The proposition to my fellows !

Hello to all buddies !!!

It has been quite a while since we have met in person. Following a custom, we, the students have been taking examinations conducted by professional bodies. Our ‘honeymoon phase’ aka graduation period is over and we are set to enter the niche, corporate world. Some of us have already taken up the jobs whereas some of us have been busy taking some placement examinations in order to land a dream job- often knows as a job that gives a reasonable pay & a bit of job security. When we are expected to clear the examinations and take up jobs, some people have been facing difficult times in juggling between the jobs and the examinations. The people often getting stressed up, mess up everything during those crucial years. The performance gets poorer ratings in the jobs and the studies take a toll. While it seems very obvious to give suggestions, putting ourselves in their shoes suggests a different picture. Doing so makes us realize that the decisions taken in such cases were not totally wrong, but the management did take a toll in doing multiple things together. Often it is said that multitasking is a key to success in the corporate world, the terms and conditions are not at all displayed. Having seen some cases around me, it has motivated me to share my thoughts on the same.

Let us take an example. The student tried his luck at some of the prestigious examinations & simultaneously took up the first job that was offered ( in order to showcase a significant experience as well as an ability of multitasking.) He started preparing for the examinations religiously and the job went on quite well on parallel . After a few initial days, things took a turn for the worse. The job which seemed mundane started demanding arduous efforts for climbing the ladders to rise to a high rank. The study which seemed interesting started getting into the phase of an ‘Achilles heel’. There came a point when he got exasperated and got into a temporary depression. The ambitions started getting faded away. After surviving for a few days, he got used to such an industrious schedule. He inspired himself, picked himself up and started enjoying the hectic life. Once again, life started seeming rosier. Then the D day got nearer. The anxiety clouded his thoughts and once again, the phase of temporary depression engulfed him. After a lot of positive consultations from his near & dear ones, he took the exam and ended up with good yet fewer marks to his expectations. He shaded a tear in silence but convinced himself that the multitasking might have affected the result. He abhorred his arduous job despite it provided him plethora of opportunities to learn ‘ how to juggle between stuff’. Analyzing the situations, very obvious suggestions will signal towards an inability to cope the two- jobs & studies but digging deeper, it was a first hands-on experience of handling two situations which were different in every respect. The fields were not inter-connected, the subjects and the practical didn’t share a bit of similarity. Although, in the eyes of the world, student might not have lived up to peoples’ expectations , he might have gained a lot, too. The examination could be cleared in the next attempt, too but an ability to multitask and to cope the seeming ‘stress’ would not have been added to his feathers, which were an absolute necessity to perform decently without unwarranted stress in the future.

So my buddies!!

Something of similar sort might  have happened with you but please remember, an experience is always worth and the failure teaches us the further way by providing an ability to think beyond conventional ways. Don’t regret the failure. It’s absolutely okay to fail. In my sense, that can be termed as an unsuccessful attempt, not even a failure. Life is amazing despite any unsuccessful attempts and don’t curse yourselves for poorer performances. An ability to think of the next opportunity and to grab it will mitigate the pains of past stuff.

Pragmatic suggestions are most welcomed. The author would highly appreciate the stance taken by the readers.

Thank You !
